Model Showcase

A look into the lives of our Community Creatives

Hi I'm Alex Lai from Queens, NY.

What inspired you to venture into modeling?

My first venture into modeling was to help promote a school organization. Through doing so, I realized that it's a great way to develop my image and confidence. I really resonate with Nimble Made's message, as fit is the most important factor in clothing for me, so it was a no-brainer to help push their brand!

How would you describe your modeling style?

I would describe my modeling style as environment-centric. I like to interact with the things around me for photos.

What do you hope people get out of your modeling photos?

I hope that my photos empower people to do what makes them happy. If not, at the very least serve as a reminder to stand with good posture :p

We created our Actually Slim Fit so guys could find confidence and feel comfortable in the clothes they wear. As an Asian model, what does a good fitting shirt mean to you?

I know this was the point of the question, but I think a well-fitting shirt is any shirt that you feel good in, so if wearing baggy shirts makes you feel good, that's your well-fitting shirt. In my case, a more closely-fitted shirt that accentuates the better parts of my upper-body inspires the most confidence in me, and that's what Nimble Made delivers.

What is your full-time gig? Any side hustles?

I'm an undergraduate junior at Baruch College, currently interning on Guardian Life's corporate venture team. In my free time, I enjoy playing Hearthstone, climbing rocks (okay fine, climbing plastic in indoor gyms), and learning calisthenics skills.

Place you most want to travel next?

"Japan. I really enjoy My Hero Academia and ramen. Especially at the same time."

Favorite song at the moment?

"2 soon by keshi."

Your go-to outfit?

"Hoodie and jeans. If there ever was an Alex Lai starter pack, that's what'd be included."

Favorite Nimble Made dress shirt?

"Toss up between The Crescent and The Grand Canal. The former for work and the latter for everything else."

Best menswear accessory you can't live without?

"A cardholder that my parents gave me when I was in 8th grade. It has spent more time in my pocket than anything else."
